Placeholder Component for Design Updates, especially for mockup.

Feature Suggestion:
I propose adding an option to create a “placeholder component” within the mockup creation feature. This component would act as a dynamic placeholder that allows designers to place it on multiple mockups. When an image is added or changed in the placeholder component, it would automatically update across all associated mockups. This functionality mirrors the efficiency found in tools like Figma and would provide a seamless experience for users managing large design projects.
Here is a detailed video explaining a similar concept: Watch Here: https://youtu.be/FubIbfLqeNs?si=JC4jIkkg7d-D9gO2
Why This Feature Matters:
- Streamlined Workflow: For projects requiring multiple mockups, this feature would eliminate the repetitive task of updating each mockup individually, saving time and effort.
- Consistency Across Designs: Ensures uniformity by updating all mockups simultaneously whenever the placeholder content is changed.
- Enhanced User Experience: Adding this functionality would attract more designers to Recraft AI, especially those working on complex design projects that require batch updates. Like in POD business.
- Competitive Advantage: This feature would distinguish Recraft AI as a tool that not only simplifies design processes but also introduces smarter ways to manage projects.
I truly believe that implementing this feature would benefit both designers and your platform by enhancing productivity, reducing manual work, and elevating the overall experience of mockup creation.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.
I’d also be happy to provide feedback or test the feature during development.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Best regards

What happened to the Nodes / connected mockups feature?
P

Hi Recraft Team,
I’m a regular Recraft user and I use it extensively for creating apparel mockups for my print-on-demand business.
Some time ago, I tested a beta feature that I believe was called Nodes. It allowed me to connect one design to multiple mockup templates, so when I replaced the original design, the new design was automatically applied to all connected mockups.
This was an incredibly useful workflow for POD. Instead of manually placing the same design on 7–10 different T-shirt and sweatshirt mockups, I could update the source design once and automatically generate the entire mockup set.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the feature/workflow I’m referring to.
Recently, however, I noticed that this functionality seems to have disappeared from Recraft.
Could you please let me know:
Was the Nodes / connected mockups feature discontinued, or is it temporarily unavailable?
Is there currently another Recraft feature that provides the same workflow?
Are there any plans to bring this functionality back?
I’d also like to share one piece of feedback from using the beta version. My print designs are already uploaded as transparent PNG files with the background removed, but the feature appeared to run background removal again before placing them onto the mockups. With detailed or complex artwork, this sometimes removed parts of the design or damaged small elements.
It would be extremely useful to have an option such as “Keep original transparency” / “Skip background removal” when the uploaded design already has a transparent background.
For a print-on-demand workflow, the combination of one source design → multiple connected mockups → automatic updates can save a huge amount of time, so I would really love to see this functionality return.
Thank you! I’d appreciate any information about the current status or future plans for this feature.
Best regards,
Valerii

Save mockups as templates

I currently love the mockup features, and have generated a few nice mockups for my designs. However, I have several designs that I would like to use the same mockups for, and it is quite troublesome to have to manually place each design into each mockup individually. It would be great to have a feature that can instantly replace the designs on each mockup

Ability to swap out images in mockups

I would love for the ability to be able to select an image asset within one project and override it with a new image upload, so that you can create or generate multiple designs for mock ups, and then only have to swap them out one time within a project, so for example, if you had the same image duplicated on 12 mock ups and one project, you could then Update that image asset one time with a new image, and it would automatically update across all the mock ups in that project. It would save a sign of time to be able to swap images out this way.

Plum Tuna Hi is there any way to check if this feature has been implemented? It would really be beneficial to my workflow as a print on demand seller
